  1. I'm about to purchase a prime for my SL2. Will be getting it from a reputable dealer, and will try it out carefully, and inspect it, right away. If it has any problems, it'll go back for replacement. I don't want to send it to Leica and do without it for months while they fix it. One dealer offers a 14 day return, and another a 30 day return (for exchange or store credit). If I can find one used, my local dealer offers a 7 day return.
  2. How would the 90 Macro M compare to the Sigma 105 L mount? Which would produce the best images? Big price difference, but if the Macro M can give me the Leica look, it would be worth it for me. Manual focus, I know, but that's fine for macro work for me. How close can it get without the macro adapter? Is the 90mm M great for longer shots as well? A lot of questions, sorry. Thanks.
  3. Would the Leica APO-Macro-Elmarit-TL 60mm f/2.8 ASPH be a good choice for the SL2? I'd be down to CL size of course, but perhaps I'd still have that "Leica look" that I cherish.
  4. Yes, this hits home. Taking photographs, having a "deeper conversation with the world" (a quote from a photographer whose name I can't recall), making sense of things, appreciating what is around me—that's what it's all about for me. I'll try to get a basic understanding of the technical part so I can get the benefit of what my camera has to offer, but I will spend most of my time taking pictures rather than working on the computer.
  5. Ahhhh, those fine memories. I'm looking at my copy of The Negative at this moment. I used to love those hours in the darkroom, creating, experimenting, perfecting...making the image say what I wanted it to say. But I just don't get that joy from working on a computer. For me, it's just work.
  6. This is helpful. Thanks. I think I'm starting to get it.
  7. Oh boy, much to learn here. It was so much easier with Tri-X in my M6! Thanks for the info. I'm going to spend this evening reading up so I can get the most out of my new camera.
  8. I just snapped a picture at DNG, and one at DNG + JPG. The DNG says 86.7 MB. How can that be? That can't be referring to how many megapixels, can it? DNG + JPG says 20.1 MB.
  9. I just got an SL2. LOVE IT. However, I only get around 20 MB. Have I set something incorrectly? Am I getting the full 47 Megapixels? Or, am I mixing something up?
