Well in fact that’s all it is: a cabin. In this case at the edge of a frozen lake, or sometimes tucked away in the reed if there’s a skatingtour: hot chocolate, rookworst (very Dutch), beer and something stronger if you like. Very cosy or ‘gezellig’ as we say in Dutch:)

I’m partial to rookworst, and stamppot from my years living in Amsterdam. And throw in a few bitterballen to get started.

A view that I use to get a lot when I was skating 50 years ago.  But I had no camera.  It would have been hazardous to the camera's health.  Nicely seen and captured..

Love the tones in this shot.  really nice.

OK.  I just have to ask.  Are you from Naches, WA?  I had a student TA in my class named Trina.  One day she left me a note and her signature looked like "Tuna" so I started calling her Tuna.  She would then sign her notes with a drawing of a fish.  So, it is a long shot that this might be my long lost TA.

Hi Adam - thank you.

Tuna is my real name, it’s Turkish.  Closest I’ve ever been to Naches is Seattle…if she was a photographer, maybe she will see all this if she likes Leica cameras…🙂

I tried damn hard to get a decent photo of the 4.2% waxing moon tonight right before it set to the west. Q2M, 1/160 sec, f/2.8, ISO 400, coupled to a Swarovski ATS 80 spotting scope at 40X power using the Leica Q Digiscoping adapter, manual focus using magnification. On tripod, using exposure bracketing and a 2 sec timer to try and hold all still. It kind of worked. Very little overall light so not any awards, but still a fund challenge. Anyone else try and capture this very early waxing moon?

What is the meaning of the poem The Song of Hiawatha?

Primarily, the epic poem highlights the stories of the Ojibwe people of the Lake Superior region. Its main focuses are the adventures of a fictional Ojibwe hero, Hiawatha, his gifts to his people, and his tragic love story with a Dakota woman, Minnehaha.

Nice job. I got up, looked at it, then went back to bed.

In my opinion, this would be more dramatic if you dodged the midtones to make that sliver more pronounced.

Cheers, Brent
