Biggest problem with having multiple cameras is finding the time and subject matter to post pics from them. I've been having a run with the film, and processing, so the M6 has hogged the limelight.

The T has sat idle for a while, but I got it out today and wandered about the flowers, with way too much wind to be happy, but snapped a couple of shots nevertheless.

Leica T, Canon 50mm f1.4 (at about f5.6), with Elpro V1b taped to the front.I'm waiting on a couple of connector fittings, so tape works, just. JPEG, with a very slight auto levels.

These pictures are proving to me that I have still plenty to learn and improve upon!

I also have started my Lightroom learning curve, and on first impressions, I should have changed from Aperture to Lightroom. It seems to do a superior job.

Can.

Hmmmm, can do, but it's ugly, not really suitable for mass viewing, LOL.

I bought a couple of Elpro lenses, Dunk's fault really. They have a weird 44mm thread, and I am waiting on a couple of sacrificial filter rings, to which I will glue a couple of other filter (44mm) filter threads. Then I can screw them on, instead of using (sello) tape. Canon 50mm is an old LTM version, a bit "soft" wide open, but sharpens up nicely mid aperture. Really, very little finnese in these two, wind movement in the flowers, plus hand-held and roughly focused. Plan of the moment is to try again tomorrow morning with a tripod, if the wind is less or not present. That would also be a good time to shoot you a pic. Spring here has the flowers blooming.

Stephen.

we all have plenty to learn, me especially.

The thing is, I normally import to LightRoom, then tweak etc. But I am finding the JPEG's that nice out of the camera I simply opened these two in Photoshop, gave each an auto levels, not that this was really required, and resized them for forum publication. Nothing else.

So while LR is good, the T is doing all the work here. Just get yours out, and shoot. I throw out more than I keep, part of the process it seems.

Its good not to be the only one constantly learning! Some of us of course are further on the line........ but I like that we can still all have a good conversation about this all, because that helps thank you.

I can assure you, you will NOT be the only one learning. And perhaps yes, while some are at different stages of this learning curve, the beautiful thing about this forum is the wealth of knowledge (and friendship) available.

Just ask.

Nice to know. I have already learnt a lot in the past couple of weeks. Definitely happy to have bought the T! I enjoyed my time with a Digilux 1, so I am glad to be back with a Leica.

My Lightroom is crashing a lot but I believe the import of one of my bigger Aperture libraries did not work correctly. However I did do some editing on one important gallery and I am impressed by the end results as compared to the originals in Aperture.

So I have to cut down each Library, maybe I start with the smaller ones, and in that way I can get a better feel sooner for Lightroom.

Can now report I have 3 galleries imported no crashes! I deleted the big gallery from Lightroom. I am reorganising my galleries, going back to having folders on a HD. One for originals DNG or other RAW. Next for jpgs of the modified RAW files. I have some galleries with blanked car registrations. Another folder for those. Done like that Lightroom, seems to be producing better output than I received through just Aperture.

Seems like this will be the solution.

playing around with a B+W circular polarizer

Voigtlander 21mm f4.0 @1/640 ISO200

minor pp with lightroom to make the colors a bit punchier

not the most interesting, picture of some corn growing.  the photo I was imagining would've been a bit wider.  makes me wish Leica would release some wider prime lenses for the T...like a 11 or 15   :)  although an 18mm super elmar-M sounds just about perfect right now...

Oh, come on guys, cut that out. I too am wanting something a bit wider than the 28mm Elmarit M I currently have.

dbchun with his CV21 isn't helping, but at least it is affordable. The 18mm or 21mm Elmars, well, they are a bit above my paygrade right now.

I too looked, longingly, at the T11-23, seemed a perfect range. It is not a small lens though, and this puts me off a bit, I like the T for it's size (lack of actually). So, with my old (V2) 35mm Summicron M it is perfectly proportioned for most needs.

I had a slight rant about T lens sizes in another thread, where the newer lenses are growing bigger than Topsy. I made the comparison: Fuji XF35mm f1.4. Auto-focus, sharper than most, and a nice size. Any lens made for the T could and should be like that. Following Zeiss with their humungous sizes is silly, to me. OK, rant over, sorry about the hijack.

I'd be happy sticking with the WATE to be honest. The lure of A/F for me is strong though, lazy like I am. The A/F on the X-Vario for exampe, while not lightning fast, is adequate and handy.

I find focusing at full aperture, then stopping down, then exposing takes time and is tedious. It precludes most/many action shots, children especially.

Of late I have been simply zone focusing, and it works OK, but not always.

Hijack is welcome! I also don't like the way lens sizes and weights are going up. This is why the Sony A7RII is wrong for me the camera body is too small WITHOUT the battery grip, and with it too heavy. Then you get the Zeiss lenses ....... What I don't get is the small sizes of 'M' lenses and they are full-frame, so no APS-C lenses should be larger than 'M' lenses or am I barking up a wrong tree?

Sort of, but the concept you have is sound. Not really the wrong tree though.

A/F evidently adds to the size/shape/mass. Which is why I keep harping about the Fuji XF lenses, the XF18 is a pancake f2 lens, and reasonable at that. The XF35 is f1.4, not too much larger, and is a stunner optically.

What I'd ike to see Leica do is replicate that sort of lens line, I am sure the masses would warm to the T more if they did.

One with the Noctilux 1.0 on the T taken today trying to capture mushrooms.  Not sure how this will come out.....
