28 summicron safari on a black M10P

Hi, I like the hood on the new safari 28 summicron, but I have a black M10P. Is it insane to buy a safari lens without a safari body? How could it look?

I don't think it will look good in my opinion. I think you have to go all in on the Safari editions.

Green lenses should be reserved for Safari Ms.
Lions and rhinos could irritated by styleless mixtures😀.

Au contraire, it will give you a green hue on black and white picture, I am surpised you didn't know...

Egad!  I admit, it was pure conjecture on my part. How could it be otherwise since I do not have a green lens! (And I’m a diehard film user).

but surely, this green cast can be corrected in post.

Go for it!  Can't hurt...and you may end up liking it.  There are no rules for mixing colors...just personal opinion.

Yes, indeed, it would be insane. Your B&W photos will have a green colorcast. 😀

I would go for the safari lens. When taking pictures you will only see the back of your camera anyway. 😏

Look at the silver chrom 28 summilux / summicron / elmarit also. 

Silver Chrom lenses on safari bodies look amazing too.

Just get the Safari Summicron if you like it (I do ).  You will very likely keep it longer than the camera, anyway.  

Once the lens is nla, you will regret it if you miss out ...

....and probably sell it for more than you bought it for. But it is a very specialized aesthetic that will look "off" on anything but a Safari body.

I say do it. If you like it, who cares? I've not seen the combination before, but I can imagine it would look alright. Afterall, people mix black and silver without thinking. Or Safari cameras with black or silver lenses, so why not?

Thanks for the pic. That actually looks pretty good, better than I thought. The matte finishes match well together.
