I read the article, there’s maybe 40% more light transmission on the 50% of pixels using the Y filter so you get perhaps a 20% net benefit in overall sensitivity? yawn.

Please can we just find a way to slim down the SL2, call it and price it as a CL2 so we can get back to taking photos.

It’s 40% more light overall. Because yellow collects two times more light than green. 
Then how to recreate green ? by subtracting yellow information to red. Red - Yellow = Green. 
 

By the way such sensor can make future Monochrom sensor less relevant. 
Speaking about Black and white. When you use colour filter, you will notice that Yellow filter will cost less light than Orange or Green which cost less light than Red one.
