Not exactly sure. Think it may have been the one that runs from Ambleside; is it Troutbeck?

Hard to figure. I have not been in the Lake District since 1994 or 1995. I still remember seeing the Aurora there, but I did not have a camera capable of capturing it.  Hadrian's Wall is well worth a visit after doing the lakes and you can stay at the Twice Brewed Inn. An Elephant on the Wall would look great after a few bevvies in the Twice Brewed Inn.

I like the colours and composition...🙄

Did you use flash?

...

No flash David. The elephant was taken in the Addo Reserve in South Africa and I just used the Dodge and Burn in Photoshop to bring up the shadows and add a couple of highlights. The background is pretty much as it came out of the camera with a little contrast and vibrance added.

It's Kirkstone Pass. That's Brothers water in the background.

Thanks for that. Am I correct in assuming that is the one that runs up from Ambleside? I should really have known has I spent so many weekends in The Lakes, walking and climbing during my youth ..... long time ago.

Cheers, Tom

Yes, Tom. There are two roads which run up from Ambleside to converge just before the summit of the pass. The steeper road is "The Struggle" - it gets you out of breath on a bike!

The pass connects Patterdale / Ullswater valley with Ambleside.
