Hi, I have a Digilux 2 and would like to use a shutter release cable for night time shots.  Is there a facility on the body of the camera to do this, I cannot see how a cable or where a cable could be fitted?  Thank you

Welcome to the forum,  Susan.

The Digilux 2 does not take a conventional mechanical shutter release. Instead, a special electrical button-operated connector was supplied. I will check mine and post the part number. It is possible that a third-party item might be found. It connects to one of the concealed ports.

Susan, the Leica cable release is LEICA CR-DC1. It is 90 cm long and connects to the AV OUT/REMOTE socket on the camera.

I think I may need the ‘trigger’ too.  I think I’m going to give up the night shots...

It is difficult to see the ends of the connector. Can you post a closer view?

This looks like an extension connector. One end should have a lockable press button. I will have a look online.

Thank you.  I have ordered something similar...it also seems that the Digilux is not too good on long shutter release...

Who claimed that? The original is 90 cm long.

I was catching up on an article from a few years ago.  90cm includes the coil too I think...Thank you for your input.
