Tried to recreate a shot of this clam on the beach that I took with the Q2M in macro mode, same day, different time of day.  I got this with the Voigt 50mm at f/3.4:

I cannot help but feel that the M10M and 50mm Noctilux f1 v4 make ideal partners (but I could be prejudiced!).

I totally agree.

Since the re-release of the 50 1.2 I have been seduced back to the Noctilux lure (I’ve owned the f/1.0, f/0.95 but not f/1.2).

After an exhausting in-depth comparison between all three models, I have returned to the f/1.0 version. I think it’s THE quintessential Noctilux lens! With the M10M being my main camera, I think the subdued hues and tones translate into beautiful tonal gradations showcased by the M10M.

What’s funny is that a girlfriend from the past once commented on how beautiful the f/1.0 rendition was compared to the f/0.95 version. I conducted another f/1.2, f/1.0, f/0.95 comparison with members of my family and it was quite clear from the beginning which lens “looked” the best; the f/1.0! Even my five year old son repeatedly picked the 1.0. No one picked the f1.2! Not one!

So, I chose the people’s lens, since that’s who I shoot for in the first place.

That's what I remember from black and white film days: orange filter makes the sky really dark. In digital days the simulated orange filter in post processing (with color sensor) has almost no effect.
