jaeger Posted December 12, 2019 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I put away the Leica hand-grip and installed the stock bottom cover today and I realize there is rubber opening that aligns with the SD card. I have never used the stock cover... so can I remove the SD card thru that slot without take off the bottom cover, or even without powering off the camera? Thanks!! In additional, I have a MP version in black. Does the bottom cover brassing like to top plate as well? That would be sooo pretty!! Advertisement Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Hi jaeger, Take a look here M240 bottom cover SD card slot. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jdlaing Posted December 13, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) NEVER remove the card with the camera powered on. That black slot you’re referring to Is an attempt to be able to use and sd card with built in WiFi. It’s not designed to be used as an sd card access. lct Posted December 13, 2019 Share #3 Posted December 13, 2019 Yes it is a plastic part allowing Eye-Fi cards to transmit more easily. Don't ask me how it works i've never used those cards so far.

jaapv Posted December 13, 2019 Share #5 Posted December 13, 2019 No - unless you destroy the plastic. It is not meant for that purpose.

jaapv Posted December 13, 2019 Share #8 Posted December 13, 2019 I've never tried it but I think that if you push it out once you won't get it to stay in afterwards.

sblutter Posted December 18, 2019 Share #10 Posted December 18, 2019 Luigi of Leicatime has base covers with a little door that opens to the battery & card area. Haven't taken it off since I got it. There old threads about the annoying original base on this site.
