Advertisement Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Hi Donzo98, Take a look here Hawk M-SL Close Focus Helicoid Adapter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted December 5, 2019 Share #2  Posted December 5, 2019 I would hold no high expectations of the results. Except for a few exceptions ( the Macro 90, DR Summicron (and similar Summicron 50-ies), and detachable optical cell 135 and 90 mm lenses) most M lenses do not shine at close distances. For macro there are better solutions, like the R 100 and 60 macro lenses, the Elmar 90 or v135 lens heads on M bellows with an M adapter and older or newer Elpros, not to mention the host of dedicated macro gear from other brands. lct Posted December 5, 2019 Share #3  Posted December 5, 2019 I have no experience with this adapter but my M lenses do very well at close distance with the similar VM-E adapter for Sony. It's become so important for me that it is stuck all the time on the camera given that it allows for focusing at infinity as well. This pic has been shot at about 20cm with a VM 21/4 but many Leica M lenses work fine too. I would certainly try this adapter if i had an SL. Are you sure it exists for L mount cameras? Just curious as it should work on the CL then. As for using it with a 50/0.95 it is another story as DoF is very short at close distance. Welcome, dear visitor! lct Posted December 5, 2019 Share #5  Posted December 5, 2019 https://www.hawksfactory.tw/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=58 "Focus beyond infinity, helicoid's thickness less 0.1mm". Interesting indeed. I wonder if "helicoid's thickness less 0.1mm" means that the adapter is fragile though.

lct Posted December 6, 2019 Share #7 Â Posted December 6, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) MFD specs are similar to those of the VM-E adapter but no 6-bit coding so no way to use the top dials of the CL for focus magnification. I'll pass.

photonc Posted December 6, 2019 Share #12  Posted December 6, 2019 @Donzo98 I have used the Kipon Macro adapter since the launch of the S1. I have also heard good things about this Peipro but have never used it. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1455266-REG/kipon_l_m_sl_m_adapter.html https://www.ebay.com/itm/PEIPRO-Leica-M-lens-to-Leica-SL-Panasonic-S1R-macro-adapter-ring-LM-L-S1RS1/123859680590?hash=item1cd69cbd4e:g:8jwAAOSwjkBdUP3M
BernardC Posted December 8, 2019 Share #13 Â Posted December 8, 2019 I have a Hawks adapter that I use exclusively with the ZM 2.0/50 Planar. It is quite useful, bringing close focus down to where an SLR 50mm would be (40cm or so). The Planar holds sharpness at close focus very well (the ZM 1.5/50 Sonnar does not, for instance). I'm not sure that I would use it with a heavy lens like the 0.95, but I haven't tried it. A small word of warning. My adapter originally had an issue with the release button. This was fixed by sending it back to the "factory." I put that in quotes because it seems to be a one-man operation. You may be better-off buying straight from him (hawksfactory.tw), rather than using ebay.

Boojay Posted January 16, 2020 Share #15 Â Posted January 16, 2020 Just wondering if anyone has seen or tried this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7artisans-LM-L-Macro-Adapter-Helicoid-For-Leica-M-Zeiss-ZM-Lens-to-Leica-T-SL-TL/324040175754?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Looks interesting (and very cheap), going to order one I think. Mick H Posted January 17, 2020 Share #16  Posted January 17, 2020 I just received the Kipon. it is very difficult to press the small and flush lens release button. The Kipon fits snugly fore and aft but there is a slight amount of rotational play. The 7 Artisans looks like a better design with respect to the lever but fit on the SL and to the M lens would need to be ascertained. The Kipon is useable. My Voigtlander Close Focus adapter for E to M mount is fantastic overall but they do not offer SL users an option.
