Hi all,

I'm finalizing Friday dinner plans for Peter Luger, so if anyone new wants to join, please let me know by Thursday, Feb 13. After that, we could probably squeeze someone else in, but not guaranteed.

Hoping to see lots of folks at dinner, but especially over those 3 days!

Ken

Is there a way to see a day-by-day agenda upfront? I might be able to join for a day's activity like shooting but won't stay over night in NYC. I would be coming from NJ but only for one day (and Friday 29th I can't attend anyway).

Great, Martin. Do you want to PM Leica Guy, who's keeping the spreadsheet and give your contact info? When we finalize things (subject to weather conditions) we'll certainly include you!

Martin B,

At the moment, it looks like Friday @ 5:30 am  (yes, before sunrise!) we are meeting at the park next to the Brooklyn Bridge, with LF member, Adam Miller who's been so very kind to take us around that morning.   I suppose we'll get some lunch together.

Nothing planned for the afternoon, as yet.

Friday night -- 7:30pm  at Peter Lugar Steakhouse for dinner.

Saturday and Sunday is still to be determined, but we're considering the World Trade Center (The Occulus), Hudson Yards, a High Line walk, a visit to Leica Soho, B&H, Central Park. Any suggestions are welcome.

Regards,

Rob

Thanks for the heads up, Rob! I was just shooting at Brooklyn Bridge Park two weeks ago. Friday I am at work (and I don't work in NYC which would otherwise be convenient), so I won't be able to make it this day but maybe on Sat/Sun.

Hi Martin: We should be posting an itinerary in the next couple of weeks.

Looking forward to this and hoping this dang Corona nonsense doesn’t wreck the plans!

I think it is a valid concern regarding the virus and it might indeed affect this planning - I would totally understand. It seems like the COVID-19 is now spreading in the tristate area - I might change my plans and not make the trip to the city at this point to mitigate risk.

Hi Rob

For info I understand that travel to the US from Europe has been banned by US authorities

Yes, the cumulative effects of the virus spread are becoming so very real in the U.S. Cancellation of sporting events, concerts, large public events, university classes, etc. . . are being announced with increasing rapidity.  Thanks for posting.  Regards, Rob

Friends:

This is not likely to come as a surprise, but with the increasing concerns about Corona Virus and the number of public place closings, we have decided to wait for a more opportune time to get together.  We are all very disappointed to cancel, but it is the responsible thing to do and just a small sacrifice to try to limit the spread of the virus.

We've decided to try to find a convenient date sometime over the summer, once the virus has been controlled, so please keep a look out and hopefully you can join us.  Stay healthy and be well.

As much as I expected this it is sad to hear, as you say though, it is the responsible thing to do. I will watch the forum and hope for a meet later in the year. Sadly I think this will be a common theme this year, I was supposed to be in Beijing 2 weeks ago, as you can imagine that did not happen!
