Winter impressions of Eibsee N°2

This panorama was merged from 2 hand held shots taken with the Apo-Summicron SL 2/35 at a winter afternoon at lake Eibsee. Nearly the whole surface of the lake was frozen enough so one could walk over the ice and and it was possible to get near to some of the small islands like here.

Winter afternoon at Aigen

After one day with intense snowfall and a wonderful winter landscape warm air was following and with some rain the snow was staying only in the higher regions. I went to Aigen and took some photos of the huts there with the mountains behind. Here we can see a lot of snow at the top of Zugspitze but only some muddy rest in the valley. Leica SL2 with Apo-Summicron SL 2/50.

Flowers with SL2 and Sigma 100-400 at 400 mm. First picture natural, background processed. Second one add. softened. I like softening for some photos, even it is out nowadays and many are fans of absolute sharpness.

Lovely capture - reminds me that I really do hope we get an SL2 Monochrom!

Thanks!

To my point of view: more likely I am waiting for a wider than 24mm prime lens ....

I have an SL2 and a Q2M and looking at the higher ISO files I get from the Q2M, I think an SL2-M would be exciting. I don't really shoot the SL2 higher than 6500 ISO but the Q2M I can go to 25000 no issues if I expose correctly - shooting at 12500 is very useful for stopped down street photography. I guess not as much an issue for landscape unless you shoot at night!

There is something haunting, yet beautiful, about this photograph.  You have captured his soul in this shot.  It is simply amazing!
