Juneteenth is a public holiday, and people here in Washington, DC., and despite of what we hear and see around us, are trying to be in a celebratory mode.  In a walk yesterday in the National Mall, I continued the effort to capture the people's lovely character in the area and its vicinity (please see here, here, here and here).  The entire encounter with this lovely make-believe four-star general lasted no more than 45 seconds during which time he was very kind to grant me the permission to take some shots of him.  I took the shot with a Summicron SL 75mm set at full aperture and processed it in Silver Efex.  The color version of the shot is a good one too, but perhaps the monochrome is more reflective of the period's uniform.  Of course, resolution improves considerably when the shot is viewed on the light-box.  Regards.

Stitched pano with P16-35.

I have a feeling this isn't going to look very good in this reduced format, but let's give it a try anyway.

Yesterday we had a thunderstorm. A victim of it was this tiny insect - app. 3mm long, which I do not know the name of it. The photo was taken with SL2 and a special lens of Canon named MP-E 65 which allows magnification up to 5 times the natural size, but without AF, . A tripod would have made ir easier, but it was not possible in this place. If someone knows the name of the insect, please let me know.
