My newly-acquired M10 Monochrom shot with the SL2 and 50 Noctilux-M 50/0.95.  What a sweet combination!

Black-shouldered Kite (Elanus caeruleus) @ Mwiba s. Serengeti, Tanzania.  SL2 & Canon 400mm DO USM ll & 1.4x TC

These silent little raptors are about 35cm (14in)  tall with a wing span of up to 95cm (35in). They can hover endlessly in 1 place & suddenly drop like a stone to catch their prey, insects, lizards, rodents & snakes. One of my favourite birds of prey. I've previously posted a different image of this bird.

Winter impressions of Eibsee, Wettersteingebirge | Bavaria.
Meanwhile at least 95 % of the surface of lake Eibsee seem to be frozen in January 2022. Though there are some places with water at the surface like here, a lot of people are walking on the lake without fear. Of course it is great when you can walk to all the islands wirer you normally need a boat or SUP. I hope it will be stable enough with more cold days to come!

Last night at club we had a firework evening and wire wool burning. While taking photos of the wire wool burning I wonder what would happen if I manually twist the zoom at the same time, I was very pleased with the effect it created. This shot is straight out of camera.

I am in love with the look and ease of use I get from the Noctilux 50/0.95 on the SL2.
