only question remains now: should I have bought the monochrom version?

I like the idea of a pure B&W camera but don’t feel it’s essential to the way I think and shoot.

I shoot RAW only but have my EVF setup to show B&W only. This obviously helps me “see” in B&W, but I still have the flexibility to process in color or B&W as I choose.

I like this idea, but have to ask you (after having done some search on the forum and on Google): is it possible to set the evf only to be B&W, while the LCD displays in color? Or do you simply mean setting the film style BW(nat)?

I never look at the LCD so wouldn’t know. I don’t chimp or pixel peep. I wait until I load the card into the computer and LRC before reviewing what I’ve captured much as I would have done shooting film.

Ok. Thanks. I dont  chimp either. Not before I get home and delete obviously bad shots before importing. But I find the lcd most practical with my new tripod. I can configure the colors in my evf, but not make it bw other than setting the filmstyle. Which I do quite often.

So I rented an M10 Monochrome to take to VT for the weekend, but my wife hijacked it! She has had no interest in photography besides using her cell phone until she got ahold of this and she fell in love.  She actually took a lot of nice photos.  I used my Q2 to get this pic of her taking a pic with the M10 mono.  Oh, I really liked the M10 mono also.  It was really fun to use.
