Great Ravi, that you noticed it. The first time I walked in the park I didn't. Well, it's a giant zipper....Art from Marieke Vromans, one of the quartermakers of the park. The zipper shows the connection from Tilburg with it's past, when Tilburg was one big wool-manufactory and other textile arts. We could make a detour from the plan by seeing the Textile Museum, when the weather is bad. It's not so far from the LocHal. https://spoorparktilburg.nl/wp-content/uploads/Marieke-in-wijkkrant-De-Noordhoek.pdf https://www.textielmuseum.nl/#
pegelli Posted January 12, 2020 Share #48 Posted January 12, 2020 (edited) Hello, I'm interested to come as well if the meeting is open to "newbies" on the forum as well Only problem is that I'm landing on Schiphol Friday June 12th in the morning after a trip back from Canada, so if the jet lag is really bad I might have to cancel at the last minute but I hope I can get some sleep on the plane so I'll be fresh enough the next day. One question equipment wise, is it "forum rules" (i.e. lens or body needs to be Leica) or is it "all Leica" and non-Leica digital backs on Leica lenses are discouraged? You're very welcome, just take something from Leica, we are not so strict in the " Brabant " part of the Netherlands. We walk a lot this day, so it will be good for your jet-lag. If you're looking for a place to stay ion the evening, the restaurant we are eating ion the evening has some rooms. pegelli Posted January 12, 2020 Share #50 Posted January 12, 2020 Thanks Paulus, the physical activity will probably do me good. And equipment wise I have an M2 that I'll bring to shoot some film, but for digital capture with Leica glass I have to rely on "backs" from another brand I live not too far across the border in Schilde, so I'm planning to drive home after dinner.

( about two kilometers from the " Spoorpark ) . https://www.derooipannen.nl/gastenklanten-en-opdrachtgevers/hotels/tilburg Another suggestion is above the restaurant where we have our dinner. https://deburgerij.nl/bed-breakfast/ One of the nicest locations ( also on the route we are walking!) is a bed and breakfast at Villa de Pastorie https://www.villapastorie.nl lying at the canal near the town harbour. Sunrises and sunsets are great there. Of course I did not sleep in the above hotels so maybe some of our former guest has a suggestion? Tilburg has a central station which is very good reachable by train coming from the UK. The train goes from London to Breda and from Breda it's about 15 minutes by train.
