Looks like a poor attempt at photoshop to me. If this is real I'm really disappointed.

I said that about the original SL, but I loved it in full sight

I will reserve my judgetment until I see it

It does look "vintage inspired" by the original SL (except the "de rigour" grip), which would be very Leica :D

it says new adapter..so perhaps a new battery too ?

They never talked about new adapter. It was just another Panasonic power adapter tested for approval at the same time as Leica 2998. Nothing related between them.

guess a smaller SL2 was too much to hope for. They say it's 47 mps; again, maybe too much to hope for that they would take risks with a smaller, more interesting sensor. Playing it safe in this market is of course entirely understandable. Guess I'm waiting for the foveon L mount before I feel any excitement.

Nokishita never reports wrong rumors. Everything they ever post are rock solid, and can be considered as true.

It just typical Leica PR stunts, an "anonymous" email to Nokishita to startup the excitement before the real launch. Just like that for years.

By the way, SL2 is really ugly. Something like Darth Vader without its helmet

It would be interesting if they added a USB-C port so you could charge the battery in-camera, use it for long studio settings, and increase the transfer rate vs even current dongles.

Well if that's the case, the Q-P will remain my only Leica.

I actually like the front design, but the best thing about the SL was the 4-button control layout. Not sure why they decided to ditch that.

What Dr Kaufmann said was true : SL2 will be only slightly smaller and will be more elegant with round corners.

Not sure about the elegant part. It may look better in person. But round corners it has.

I find it really beautifull! (Well the all black rear is more sexy in the SL... anyway I like the front much more which is more important) 🙂

I can think of some unpolicitically correct things to say but won't

On the other hand, think about the side you will mostly be looking at ;)

You can always of course get the best of both worlds - a threesome ? - you, SL and SL2 .....

If this is correct I suspect GPS is under the hotshoe.

There are the same number of buttons overall ...... one lost on the back and one gained on the front (it looks dual rather than single, now) ..... but if they are using the CL pattern you have lost the long/short press functionality. I can't say I've ever been a great fan of the CL control implementation ..... I feel it's one button short.  I can see why Leica might want to harmonise things over all their models, but I'm not that convinced that dumming down is the answer.

I'm beginning to have concerns now about LENR ....... and IBIS ...... a smaller or the same size body as before makes both a tall order unless they have stolen the insides of a Sony AR7.....
