Advertisement Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 Hi digitalfx, Take a look here It's April. Are the 35 APO SL-SC's arriving?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jrp Posted April 19, 2019 Share #42 Posted April 19, 2019 Yes. It focuses down to just under a foot. At that distance the depth of field is very limited, especially since this lens seems to show the design characteristics of this lens family in ♠️ namely higher sharpness in a narrower range. Whether it is an f1.4 equivalent or and f1.2 I don’t know, but it does obliterate the background.

I can focus about 4 inches from the front of the lens....but yes the dof is very short.

So I'm starting to hold my breath for the 35/2.0 but expect it will be another month or so. Leica USA has't told my shop anything yet. and I'm not first in line. My plan is to have both 35's available as "normal" lenses on the CL, and the new 35 as its natural focal length on the SL. And then starts a long countdown for the wider lenses coming in 2020... Are you planning to use the SL35Apo with the CL?
scott kirkpatrick Posted April 27, 2019 Author Share #50 Posted April 27, 2019 Sure, why not? But I do have the CL 35/1.4. I'll spend some time seeing how they differ.

jplomley Posted May 4, 2019 Share #52 Posted May 4, 2019 This thread went pretty quiet. Would love to see more examples posted and comparisons to M 35 Cron and Lux, particularly bokeh
scott kirkpatrick Posted May 4, 2019 Author Share #53 Posted May 4, 2019 I checked with my dealer last week. After the first shipment, which went only to Leica Stores, there haven't been any more through Leica USA. Nothing in the Hong Kong grey market yet (on E-Bay, either). scott kirkpatrick Posted May 17, 2019 Author Share #55 Posted May 17, 2019 Mine is on its way, and my dealer (Popflash) has shipped some others before mine. Now to wait for the SL2 to really give it a workout. And for the 50 and 24 to complete the set... I can get some use in the meantime.
AZN Posted May 24, 2019 Share #56 Posted May 24, 2019 FWIW I cancelled my pre-order today. Clawed back my $AUD 700 deposit and am feeling great. Best $AUD 6650 I'll now get to spend somewhere else 😃

scott kirkpatrick Posted May 24, 2019 Author Share #58 Posted May 24, 2019 (edited) My copy made it from Thousand Oaks, CA to Houston TX in about 5 days, from Texas to Tel Aviv in three more days, but it looks like getting it up the hill from the airport to my house (40 km) will take three more days... I have plans for immediate use. Edited May 24, 2019 by scott kirkpatrick
SiggiGun Posted June 8, 2019 Share #59 Posted June 8, 2019 Initially I pre-ordered a 50, now most of us wait still for the 35... But it seems more realistic to think that the 35 will be available in 1S2019
geddon_jt Posted June 8, 2019 Share #60 Posted June 8, 2019 If it helps anyone, Leica Store Rome has a single copy available as of yesterday. They let me try it on my own SL inside the store. Certainly much less bulky than the 24/90 zoom but didn’t spend enough time with it to develop any meaningful impressions.
