My Q2 shipped today from B&H along with a new Match Technical EP-LQ2 Thumbs Up Grip. I should have them tomorrow. I ordered the second day after introduction. Last week a B&H representative told me they expected 20 units to arrive on 5/10. Looks like they came in ahead of that date.

Second day after introduction? Do you mean 3/8?

Congrats! Have you used the new Payboo card?

No. Not really familiar with it. I used Apple Pay and regretted it. They charged my credit card even though the camera was on backorder. I ultimately got it reversed until they shipped.

I'm sorry to hear  that...  Just hope  it's Quality control suffering...

Nope it's the end user who suffers! I'm relatively new to the forum but I have to break ranks here with the Fan boys who will argue that "be patient, Leica will fix things in time" or "it's still a great camera". Leica is a luxury product that sells at a premium. As a luxury good one might expect that the product undergoes careful QC. Purchasers are entitled to delivery of a camera without flaws or defects. l for one would not accept delivery of a unit that had such a patently obvious flaw.

Giving the OP the benefit of the doubt  (perhaps they need the Q2 for an imminent vacation trip, etc) , I would contact the retailer and insist upon a replacement. Should the retailer not have any remaining units to ship, I would immediately contact Leica USA and insist upon a remedy. Perhaps they can redirect a unit earmarked for a retailer so that the OP can have a replacement Q2 in short order.

Regardless of when the OP chooses to send his defective Q2 back , he will then be faced with the inconvenience and loss of use during that time. Despite good intentions mistakes and flaws happen. Its how well the manufacturer or manufacturers agents respond that are dispositive for me.

3/9. Early in the morning. I heard they were getting 20 units in. Hopefully one is yours too.

I really wish you'd said 3/8, because now I don't know what to think.  My B&H order is from early 3/8, before getting my kids up (it wasn't listed on-site when I checked 22h earlier).  My order is still back-ordered; I was told when  called in a month ago that separating the Ettas pouch wouldn't speed-up shipping any bit, but now I'm suspicious.

Ordered 3/7 from B&H. I’m a patient person but really expected orders would be filled in the order they were received. I expected better and will let them know.

As I recall, B&H was closed on 3/8 and reopened around 7:30pm EST on 3/9.

I’ve become used to the piece of dirt in my EVF... the camera is very lovely. I contacted Adorama and they have been super kind to me, even offering to pay to have the unit serviced if need be. I hit up Leica and was first told to just mail it back to their headquarters in New Jersey. They provided a label and said my unit would be looked at and then fixed. Two days later I got an email from them saying that my unit would have to go back to Germany with a minimum of a 4 week turnaround. This was unacceptable so I contacted Adorama again who promised they would send me a brand new unit once they received new stock, at which point I would mail this defective one back. This would have to occur within their 30 day return window which I’m hoping happens, otherwise I’m out of a camera again until whenever that is. Kinda frustrating that this wasn’t flagged in QC but after all we are all human.

Purim was the 21st, and had holiday hours.  They usually close sundown on Friday (e.g. 3/8) until sundown Saturday for the Sabbath, but are open during the day on Friday.

I went back and checked my confirmation eMail (since all subsequent confirmations just say "March 8th"), and I got the eMail around noon, so I must have actually checked-out later in the day.

I'd originally hoped to use it for a trip in late March, but effectively as long as I get it by November when I'll be wanting the improved high-ISO (compared to my X2) I'll be happy.  I used its lack of being here as an excuse to shoot some film, whereas if I had received the new camera, I'd feel like I should be using that.

I highly recommend you call B&H and escalate to a supervisor. I called at least 4 times because they charged my credit card and I was about to have to pay the VISA yet had no camera. The supervisor was super helpful and understanding. Overall, I’d rate my experience with B&H as A+. In general I believe they try to fill orders in the order they came in. They’re a very professional organization IMHO.

B&H have absolutely tops customer service, as far as I'm concerned. The only problem is in their collecting state sales tax. They can/do for some, but not for others. They can't/won't for Rhode Island, so that at the end of the year, they actually sent me a tax bill! More fun for my accountant. Other than that small thing, they have been awesome.

I’ve never had any problems with B&H, especially a “premature” credit card billing. I have noticed that the additional battery I ordered 2 weeks after I ordered the camera shows “in stock, order sent to warehouse”, so we’ll see if maybe the camera isn’t in the queue (no pun intended) waiting for the end of Sabbath to be processed. But, yeah, they’re definitely getting a call from me tomorrow.

I agree. I have shopped at B&H not to avoid tax, but because they have always been a first rate operation. They still have the benefit of the doubt until I speak with them.

"Flagged in QC"....

I'm sorry that  this happened to you. That's what i was talking about.  I hope QC isn't  failing because of demand...  I'll  gladly wait  for a perfect  unit..  than to have a "rushed one"  I  might be talking out of my Bum...but i hope that this is just an isolated incident...  but like you said...  we're all human.....

Just to add that it's not to avoid tax. Amazon charges the tax when you buy the merchandise and then sends it on. B&H can't until they send a statement at the end of the year that has to be part of my state filing. It's a pain; but not more or less money.
