jaapv Posted November 27, 2018 Author Share #8 Posted November 27, 2018 10 hours ago, fotografr said: Perfect. I hope she doesn't bite. Well, Lion Tattoos are not unknown... They have had no bad experiences with humans, nor have their parents taught them wariness, so they are non-aggressive, but still they are playful young cats, unaware of our relative vulnerability. They are semi-wild, held in a natural bush environment and being trained to be released into freedom, at least into private conservation areas where their habituation to humans will not be a handicap for their survival. The parents were brought into the rehabilitation center with snare wounds and are now physically unable to survive in the wild. Over the years they have become quite attached to their carers. I hold an opinion on this, which is not shared by all. If a (socially developed) animal has only good experiences with humans, it will not regard us as a threat and behave accordingly. One may call that habituated, or even domesticated, but I call it the natural state of the animal, as long as we don't spoil it by our own stupidity. It has sadly come to a point that Lions are entering the endangered species zone. Over the last three decades their number has dropped by 90 % Mainly by habitat loss, Human-Lion conflict and commercial hunting. So breed-and-release is becoming more and more of a necessity

A miller Posted December 3, 2018 Share #10 Posted December 3, 2018 Having your eye on the tiger rather than what customarily would be the camera is the way to go here, me thinks.... Very good one for the album.
