I say this from the perspective of my own experiences and the several expositions I've seen posted by others on the Forum.

 

In my opinion, the PRIDE events are almost universally joyous and full of loving emotion towards both the participants and strangers.

 

Maybe it's the panoply of colors in the rainbow emblem, or the communal joy of being free of secrecy and fear--they are exceptional places to take pictures of people who are happy and in celebration of something they truly believe and live.

I agree with Allan - I usually do.  I wonder if this would be stronger still with about an inch cropped from the right.

I agree about the colors being so happy and bright.  I especially like this shot because it doesn't have fetish costumes blasted all over.  Just two people that are happy to be who they are.

I'm in agreement with Gerry on this one.

 

The yellow signboard in the right lower quadrant draws the eye from left to right (your natural reading habit) and down (again a very comfortable movement to us); then back up to the sign, then down to the colorful subjects, and finally to the wonderful emotions they display.

 

I am the worst ever at over-cropping, mainly from squeezing my photos into limited space on auto racing websites. And there is virtue to, in some cases, framing the essence without the environment.

 

But in most cases, and this is one, the ability to breathe a little bit with a more expansive look adds to the pleasure of viewing it.
