IkarusJohn Posted August 27, 2018 Share #81 Posted August 27, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I seem to recall that a previous camera had a help function built into the firmware which was supposed to make finding menu options easier - can't recall if it was a Nikon or a Sony. It didn't actually help ...
Advertisement Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 Hi IkarusJohn, Take a look here M10-P - No Instruction Manual In the Box. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JohnnySeven Posted August 27, 2018 Share #82 Posted August 27, 2018 (edited) If you're spending that much money on a rangefinder camera one would think that you would know how to operate a rangefinder camera. Its a wildly simple little machine. Edited August 27, 2018 by JohnnySeven
mikemgb Posted August 28, 2018 Share #83 Posted August 28, 2018 Just a thought, why don't Leica upload a manual into the camera menu? Updates would be automatic with firmware updates. Problem solved. Probably because Adobe Reader is seriously over-bloated, it would take far more built in memory than the camera has to run it.
digitalfx Posted August 28, 2018 Share #84 Posted August 28, 2018 Sure some new members come on to troll, but this one wasn't a troll, a legit question. Sorry, but I disagree...First off, the OP never asked a question, he only told us that he was outraged because of Leica's arrogance. It was the OP's choice of words that immediately led me to believe it was a joke. Then I noticed it was his first post....all the tell tale signs of someone trolling for a response. Outrage: arouse fierce anger, shock, or indignation in (someone). Arrogance. : an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions. Its a piece of paper...life is far to short to be "outraged" over a missing piece of paper.
ianman Posted August 28, 2018 Share #85 Posted August 28, 2018 Probably because Adobe Reader is seriously over-bloated, it would take far more built in memory than the camera has to run it. Then don't use Adobe Reader. I don't use any Adobe products because they are all seriously over-bloated. Actual James's idea isn't bad. A PDF could be included in the firmware which could be transferred to the card and then copied to a computer or tablet.

It would hold the manual in all languages.
Edax Posted August 28, 2018 Share #87 Posted August 28, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does the M10 come with a printed manual? I just unpacked the body, battery, strap and charger and moved the box to the attic. Didn't look for a printed manual, downloaded the pdf upfront already so I knew how everything worked before it arrived. IMHO the offer of Leica to send a printed manual on request makes sense. feelssadman Posted August 28, 2018 Share #88 Posted August 28, 2018 Yes. At least mine came with a printed manual.
farnz Posted August 28, 2018 Share #89 Posted August 28, 2018 My M10 came with a printed manual too. I had to search for it though because I'd checked a couple of things on day one and has been efficiently increasing its impressive collection of top quality dust ever since. Pete. mikek61 Posted August 30, 2018 Share #90 Posted August 30, 2018 I just picked up my M10-P yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I realized that a manual was not included. I paid $7,995 for a camera and Leica would not include a printed manual. Of course I can go online and print it myself, but the end result will not be the same. On Leica's website there is an option to fill out a form and eventually a printed manual will be mailed to me. What arrogance on Leica's behalf! It's an outrage. Mark My 10-P arrived today. It has a quick start manual among other booklets. I didn't have a need to touch the quick start. Camera set up is simple. Welcome Mark. This is my first post too. You're missing the point. The suggestion is to have a new updated manual included with each firmware update... so it keeps it all nicely in synch. JAC Posted August 30, 2018 Share #92 Posted August 30, 2018 Just load a PDF of the manual to your phone. I always do it, and never use the paper version. Very handy.

Ha, when was the last time any manufacturer included an SD card with a camera?
