Ouroboros Posted March 20, 2019 Share #103 Posted March 20, 2019 Just a comment after having an opportunity finally to spend half an hour at TPS with the CV 50mm f1.2 Nokton on a Monochrom v1. It's quite a bit smaller than I expected and beautifully constructed. I found it a lot easier to focus accurately enough at maximum aperture (for some reason) and an ergonomic joy in comparison to the late version f.1 Noctilux I once had but never liked much. The focus throw is shorter than I had expected and the aperture ring being paced toward the front on the lens took me less than 30 seconds to get used to. The lens balanced well on the camera unlike my Noctilux, which did not. It's a very nice lens indeed.
microview Posted June 7, 2019 Share #104 Posted June 7, 2019 Cashback offer in the UK for a short period, and I bought this lens yesterday. I prefer the focusing ring to the tab on the 50 Summilux and first shots were quite promising. Have yet to test under identical conditions against my Summilux ASPH. Reid Reviews suggests coding both lenses as the same.
mdp Posted June 7, 2019 Share #105 Posted June 7, 2019 I also prefer the focus ring on the VM50/1.2 without a tab & changed from Summilux to the Nokton, although it's for film only. I also bought the 40/1.2 which is my favourite focal length.
