OK, and thanks for the reply.

So I'll keep this Ishoot EA5 collar, which is proving to be very good :
Amazon.com : Collier d’objectif iShoot 66 mm Bague de montage de trépied Compatible avec la bague d’adaptation du convertisseur de monture Sony LA-EA5, Support d’objectif Le support de support d’objectif Le fond est une plaque de dégagement rapide Arca-Swiss Fit Rainure en queue d’aronde : Électronique

It fits very well on the Sigma 105, and its Arca Swiss-compatible mount is very practical.

I've found this on Kickstarter, it's beautifully made and it works well on the CL. It's a camera rotation gadget which attaches to the camera instead of the the lens.

Which model did you find was usable  on the CL please.

'Chicken–of–the–Woods' bracket fungus thriving on a Stamford UK River Welland decaying tree stump habitat. It's a 40cm diameter specimen and still growing. Edible when cooked and tastes like chicken.

Silencecorner.net carries a number of different models of the Atoll rotation gadget, two of which I know to be usable with the Leica CL.

The smaller one, the Atoll-S (https://silencecorner.net/products/atoll-model-s-1) works fine with slender lenses. The inner diameter of the ring through which the lens must fit is 63.5mm. This will fit, for instance, the Vario-Elmar-TL 18-56 or the Summicron-T 23. The lens can be mounted and unmounted with the Atoll attached to the camera.

The Leica M-Adapter L works fine with the Atoll-S and even my heftiest M-Lens, the TT-Artisan 35mm/1.4 has ample room. Mounting and unmounting lenses from the M-Adapter is a bit fiddly because the release button is partly hidden by the Atoll. Just mounting and unmounting the M-Adapter with the lens attached might be easier.

In addition to the Atoll itself you absolutely need the Heightening Plate (https://silencecorner.net/products/heightening-plate-1) so that the optical axis of the lens can be moved to the center of the ring of the Atoll. It's the small plate between the bottom of the camera and the base of the gadget.

Please note that the gadget can be attached to the tripod either with a screw (1/4") or with a quick mount (Arca-Compatible).

The larger model is the Atoll-C (https://silencecorner.net/products/atoll-model-c-1). The ring through which the lens must pass has an inner diameter of 75mm and will fit even my heftiest L lens, such as the APO-Vario-Elmar 55-135, Super-Vario-Elmar TL 11-23, Sigma 30mm 1:1.4 DC DN, Sigma 45mm 1:2.8 DG DN, Sigma 70mm 1:2.8 DG Macro.

This model also requires the Heightening Plate (https://silencecorner.net/products/heightening-plate-1); it's the same one as for the Atoll-S model.

But: The distance from the bottom of the camera body to the center of the lens mount on the CL is so small that the Atoll does not quite center the lens within its ring. Hence, turning the camera with the Atoll may not keep quite the same spot in the middle of the image. Adjusting the height of the Atoll becomes fiddly and somewhat uncertain.

Adding another Heightening Plate could possibly solve the problem, but I don't have a screw that long.

They also carry a Two-Way Plate (https://silencecorner.net/products/two-way-plate) which - going by the description - may or may not solve the problem, but I haven't seen one in person.

Inspired by POP and his updates on the tripod attachment, and suffering a slight bit of "gotta get out and shoot the CL", I snapped a few shots in the (winter) garden.
