For curiosity - and since the new SL 75 Cron, SL 90 Cron and SL 16-35 appear to be somewhere between hard to impossible to find...: Anyone receiving these newcomers lately?

And regarding the SL 16-35: Does this lens ship despite the new FW 3.2 is still not out? (Both the lens and FW3.2 were supposed to be out on April 23 according to Leica). Yes, we know that Vieri has received the 16-35  ;) , but others?

It is shipping.  Leica USA has sent some out to its stores.  My dealer has #1 on its way at the moment, but unfortunately my place in line is #2, and they have no date yet for a second unit.  I doubt that an SL or CL would operate the lens unless it is recognized by the firmware.  Perhaps a test profile is hidden in 3.1 but this wouldn't have been evident without the new lens to bring it out.

SL 75 & SL 90 cron both available in Singapore.

Even have seen a preowned SL 75 Cron put on sale.

Not seen SL16-35 yet till now (Friday afternoon April 27), but I am told some* (pieces unknown) will come in next week through dealers I know.

So far these are what I know of here.

I suspect VB has a demo lens shipped to dealers in advance of the actual release. I had the SL and 24-90 several weeks before the eventual shipping date as my dealer accidentally sent me their demo copies. The fact that there are actually some final production lenses about suggests to me that shipping is imminent .... and probably just delayed by FW 3.2

I think I can guess the reason for the firmware delay and also guess it will appear in the next few days.

Leica's method of batch production is always going to result in the supply tap being continually turned on and off. As usual there will probably be a few 16-35's for each main Leica Dealers and a semi-random sprinkling for the other dealerships, followed by a long lag till the next batch get made.

Thanks. And yes, I do remember the 'fun' when you got the SL some weeks prior to the rest of the gang...

"accidentally sent me their demo copy" is his story, and I would expect him to stick to it, as both Thighslapper and his dealer got snarled at for the "accident."  I stopped in the Leica store branch in the Frankfurt airport around M10 first ship time, and asked if I could buy their demo unit.  I was told that it could be sold only about a month from that date.  Anyway, my M10 came through not too long after.

true !!!! ...... I happened to phone up one afternoon enquiring if any stock had appeared .... they checked on their computer and surprisingly a body and lens had just been delivered to their warehouse. I knew I was first on the list and asked if there was any chance there was still time to ship it that afternoon ..... and it duly appeared the following day, having never actually got to the dealership itself.

When the boss asked the following morning where his demo SL kit was, as he wanted to try it out, there was an uncomfortable silence...... Sometimes having very efficient and helpful staff can be a problem.....

As I am I good customer they had the decency to let me keep it as long as I didn't post any pictures (too late) and keep quiet (too late) for 2 weeks till the real release date. They exchanged it when they got stock as Leica keep a record of the demo serial numbers to prevent them being sold.

Andreas kindly deleted all my photos and posts and I had to play with my new toys in silence for 2 weeks .....

16-35 I heard very few have started trickling in this week

75 & 90 - there were a few 75 around a month ago in London, 90 I have only seen one so far, they seem to be slightly delayed compared to the 75

I sold the 50mm 1.4 for £4000 with best offer available after a few months of ownership. Wasn't expecting that, but there was no stock in stores.

3350 saves 400 on new in UK. I hardly used it.

Might just need more patience.

The 16-35 has arrived in the U.S.  I received mine Friday.  (D.C.)

Extremely quick reaction based on extremely limited usage: The extra 8mm between16mm and the 24-90's starting point seems far more profound in action than it does as an abstract set of numbers; it makes me remember, happily, the WATE, which I traded in some time ago for... something.  It is just enough lighter and smaller than the 24-90 to warrant notice.  Thank you, Leica, for the courtesy of extending the SL zoom range with all three lenses needing the same 82mm ND and polarizing filters (may be the first thing Leica has done in my experience to reduce the user's out-of-pocket expenses.)

Anyway, very short amount of usage in my backyard this weekend makes me very glad to have completed the zoom lens cycle for the SL.  I think I'm done buying SL lenses now, as the M primes work so well...
