Advertisement Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Hi Rona!d, Take a look here boys toys. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted July 3, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 3, 2007 Ron - Both are superb in crop, detail, light and color. What is the little gray beauty, and what does the rest of it look like? Was the owner of the roadster nervous about such a youngster switching on the electrics?
Guest Metroman Posted July 3, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 3, 2007 Ron: I love the colours not too harsh. Did you get a photo of the little guy roaring off into the sunset? Is the top photo an Austin Healey? The lower rear curves look familiar.
elansprint72 Posted July 3, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 3, 2007 #2 is a TR2 or TR3, but that first one......... hmmmm? Must have a very small rear window... no rear lid for luggage.... I'll guess it's a Zagato or other specialist Italian body-builder...... or is it one of those 356s with a Swiss(?) body????? Two well-seen photos. topoxforddoc Posted July 3, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 3, 2007 Pete, could it be one of those exotic OSCAs? Charlie
Rona!d Posted July 5, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted July 5, 2007 Think you´re wrong Pete. Instead of an TR try AH for the red one About the grey car, well boys, here´s another shot and YOU name me the model of this nice FIAT! #2 is a TR2 or TR3, but that first one......... hmmmm? Must have a very small rear window... no rear lid for luggage.... I'll guess it's a Zagato or other specialist Italian body-builder...... or is it one of those 356s with a Swiss(?) body????? elansprint72 Posted July 5, 2007 Share #8 Posted July 5, 2007 :D Damn! And I've had a Frog (Bug) -eye and one lives just around the corner. Never seen anything like that FIAT Any more auto-puzzles?
Rona!d Posted July 6, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted July 6, 2007 Ok, about the FIAT: It´s the 1948 1100 Mille Miglia-prototype. Only ONE exist, so VERY rare!
Rona!d Posted July 6, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted July 6, 2007 Was the owner of the roadster nervous about such a youngster switching on the electrics? Stuart, he was not nervous. The owner let him control the steeringwheel while driving on the Polo field and switch off the engine after the ride (just like my dad did when i was at that age )
stuny Posted July 11, 2007 Share #11 Posted July 11, 2007 Ron - Thanks for the extra details and the second image of the FIAT. Pete - You might have been thrown off by the lovely aftermarket steering wheel -- Perhaps a Nardi?
elansprint72 Posted July 11, 2007 Share #12 Posted July 11, 2007 Stuart, It's a Moto Lita wheel (UK make), original equipment on several Aston Martins and the like. I've got one on my Elan but it's about half the size of the Healey one. My Sprite had a huge plastic rimmed wheel with two spokes- you can see why folks ditched them.
