Jon Pop Posted November 30, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 30, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just a question for those in the know...does the new firmware for the M10 do anything besides add the Thambar and the Noctilux 75 to the lens menus/6 bit coding recognition? If that's the only change I won't bother until Leica works on some of the other things (hopefully) that have come up as suggestions/bugs, etc.

marcg Posted November 30, 2017 Share #4 Posted November 30, 2017 (edited) Well I've installed it successfully – and there seems to be no problems. I thought I might as well do it in case I get a very serious attack of GAS – and take leave of my senses at the same time. Wouldn't it be nice if they did a version which provided for 1.11.1.0 -- Support for all of the very reasonable requests from our Leica M customer base who invest so much of their money and also their enthusiasm in our brand. I suppose there'll be snowflakes in hell before that happens Edited November 30, 2017 by marcg
UliWer Posted November 30, 2017 Share #5 Posted November 30, 2017 No reason to complain: No bugs I know which were in the former firmware are still in the new one. Since the Thambar and the new Noctilux are only coded, there is no manual lens detention for them in the menue; so you don't realize that they exist. A rumor firmware. I believe snowflakes do end up there. But I have also downloaded the new M10 firmware. Sometimes bug are fixed without being acknowledged. albertknappmd Posted December 4, 2017 Share #9 Posted December 4, 2017 Hi Albert, could you post a few pics when you get the lens, please? Maybe a few with and without the filter. John Happy to do it!! I have been told by an old hand who has an original Thambar that there is a steep learning curve but I suspect that with live view, the curve will be easily surmounted!
