Not sure what you are looking for, a simple plate, an L-Plate or something to replace the bottom cover?

For an L-plate I would recommend the L-bracket Classic from Arca Swiss, https://www.arca-shop.de/en/l-brackets-classic-fliplock-serie. It's expensive but also very versatile and I used it with different type of cameras of different sizes over the years.

If you're only looking for a simple plate then the suggestion from user pedaes looks very interesting in my opinion.

The problem with every Arca-Swiss type plate for the M10 I have found is:

1. You have to remove it when you want to access the battery/SD card compartment.

2. There is no plate on the market (as far as I am aware) that allows separate access to the battery/SD compartment

3. Most of them commit cardinal sins for removeable plates: require tools to remove / if tool-less, the wingnuts are hard to pull out / non-capture screws.

Since I am going to have to screw/unscrew an Arca-Swiss plate every time I am going to use a tripod anyway, I have decided on ditching the Arca-Swiss system. Get a Novoflex Magic Ball Free, and screw it into your tripod hole every time you want to use it. An additional advantage is that it saves weight since you don't have to carry a redundant plate and platform around.

1. As tripods are an occasional use item for most, this is never a problem in practice.

2. Do not RRS make a combined bottom plate/Arca Swiss plate?

3. Arca Swiss and Breakthrough both use tool-less screws that work fine.

I leave the plate fixed in the ball head on the tripod until I need it.

This is why I use the RRS Arca-Swiss baseplate.  When I need access to the battery or SD card I remove it just like the Leica baseplate - no tools required.

For fantastic value and superb quality try https://breakthrough.photography/collections/all/products/universal-arca-plate

The finish of these plates is equal to the Arca Swiss plates costing x5. Highly recommended.

I have an Arca plate for something else.

These alternatives are so cheap that I have just ordered a couple.

I'll let you know what I think when I receive them

You don't have to unscrew it if you use a LeicaTime hinged bottom plate, They exist for M8, M9 and M240, I'm sure the M10 will be catered for as well. Inquire from Luigi.

I asked Luigi about this at the beginning of the year and he told me that he would be producing one. I don't know if he has changed his plans though because so far there doesn't seem to be anything available.

I have one on my MM1 and it is excellent. Probably the best add-on which I have ever bought. Come to think of it, apart from a RapidWinder, it's the only add-on I have ever bought for a Leica camera

Does anyone have a photo of the RRS baseplate mounted on a M10 without the grip or L plate? If so, would you please post it?

Specific request, I know. I’m just trying to gauge how much bulkier the plate makes the camera. The RRS bracket I have on my Nikon D800 is quite large.

I have just received two of these with the post. They are really excellent. Beautifully produced. Beautifully machined as far as I can tell with little pads where the face makes contact with the bottom of the camera. Absolutely no tools needed to mount it. I bought a 40 mm one – the smallest one which is absolutely fine and also is adjustable to the extent that it has a long slot so it could be mounted on a whole range of different cameras.

I would get the L pate version for vertical shots..

I don't know about anyone else but if I wanted to take vertical shots then I simply move the ball head over by 90° and Bob's your uncle – my camera is mounted vertically.

They are so cheap that maybe somebody who is an aficionado of Really Right Stuff  would like to buy one and try on a head-to-head comparison.

I have RRS plates on a couple of other non-Leica cameras and frankly I don't see the difference other than the RRS ones are larger, a bit heavier (although they are pretty light) and a huge amount more money.

I suppose the only thing that concerns me is whether there is some copyright issue here in terms of a breach of RRS' intellectual property. I suppose it's not really a concern – it's simply a passing curiosity.
