This thread is suffering from overposting by a few members; I have hidden some posts. It is a an unwritten convention that we leave space for other participants. I look forward to seeing more of this project, @colint544. 

Have to say I much prefer the M2/Portra version here.  To my eye, the flat low contrast light with the muted palette and even contrast of Portra 400 are more  suited to the conditions than the low contrast M9M image.

Thank you. And I agree. I've really come to love Portra 400 these past few years. It's got a gentle and timeless look to it, and reminds me that - in 35mm format anyway - razor sharpness is not the be all and end all. 

Of course, then I'll look at what Ragnar Axelsson does with his M Monochrom, and be reminded at what an amazing instrument that is with the right subject, and in the right hands. But it's nice that we have so many options now, when we want to make images.
