Brent, all those pics are great. They each have a story embedded in them, which, for me is important. I particularly like the girl with the bunch of flowers. Shallow DOF is my natural attraction.

 

You have tempted me to scour my files to present some of my own.

Great idea for a thread, Colin. Your work is extraordinary and some of the best I've seen anywhere.

 

Should add that your pictures have superb timing, and really capture the moment. It's nice to see everyone's view of their part of the world.

I was photographing this writer who was doing a piece about neighborhood bars when a young, inebriated woman came out and decided to spruce up the background. I think she ended up making the photo.

I was photographing this writer who was doing a piece about neighborhood bars when a young, inebriated woman came out and decided to spruce up the background. I think she ended up making the photo.

very interesting, Brent.  He looks straight out of the movie Revenge of the Nerds.  It is a nice image, but probably could do without the heavy sharpening.  It looks like digital noise and I had to do a double take to convince myself that it is Tri-X.
