Lovely shots Beena 22 and definaltly making me want an elmar C, for the price it looks exceptional!

In the end I found a dealer with a mint 90/2 cron pre asph the (e55) version and he did me a deal for that and an 18 Sem. So now I hopefully have both my wide and long ends all sorted.

Thanks for the help and there has been some amazing recommendations and beautiful shots.

Don't rule out the 75 Summarit,  I think it is underrated amongst the L fanatics...

Unless one simply wants to print big (how many print portraits that big... landscapes are another story), a 50mm cropped to 75mm FOV is ~ 12mp output and may be sufficient for many usage. From the same subject distance the out of focus background for 50mm f/2 and 75mm f/2.8 will be similar. If someone already has 50mm f/2 or f/1.4 then 75mm summarit is not really needed.

I know perfectionists don't like cropping but it is very useful tool nonetheless.

(BTW, the same logic can be extended to 90mm as well but crop is only 5-6mp and 50mm 1.4 out of focus blur is equal to 90mm 2.8 for same subject distance, giving 90mm cron an advantage. Due to all this simulating 90mm by cropping 50mm is less practical).

Better take a 15mm lens, a 100MP camera and pair of scissors. Just kidding ;)

Where can I find 15mm f/0.35 lens? This being 5 stop brighter, will be equivalent to 90mm f/2 at same image distance. You will also need 768MP (24x2^5) camera for final 24MP crop (90mm FOV).

I am not kidding. There is value to cropping to some extent and beyond that it becomes impractical. I was stating what is the limit for my usage. Unless I get 15mm f/0,35lens and 768MP camera, I will limit my crops only to 50 -> 75 FOV (less than 2x FL).
