The late lamented Terry Pratchett described the mail sorting machine designed by BS Johnson. It included a wheel that, for simplicity's sake, he designed with pi=3. To meet the design, it tapped through the space-time continuum. Although it was so effective that it sorted mail which hadn't been written, let alone posted, it was considered too dangerous to approach.

Has anybody actually done the maths to see if the RF base is long enough to allow for accurate focusing with a 75mm f/1.25? I would be very surprised if Leica build an RF coupled M lens which cannot be accurately focussed using the RF system simply because inaccuracy with the RF will result in innumerable complaints from those who don't want to use LV to focus it. The Summilux can be tricky but possible, but a shallower dof will make it even more difficult. Just a thought :o.

going from 1.25 to 1.4 isn't going to change much in that regard. In use, I doubt it will be noticeable difference.

No problem on full frame Ms when using the formula b = e*f^2/k*z where b is the critical RF base length, e the visual acuity (0.0003), f the focal length, k the aperture and z the circle of confusion (0.03 for FF, 0.022 for APS-H). M8 and M8.2 would need a 1.40x or 1.50x magnifier though.
