impressive and beautiful.

But I´d crop the lower 20% of the .image ad prefer the "purist" style foto of bamboo woods.

John -

Such beauty and simplicity in such a chaos of lines. The tones, especially, are as startling as exceptionally light eyes in the face of a person with very dark hair. Lovely.

John,

a good picture I like it because clear structure, simplicity and tones, like the other said before.

I am surprised that the the bamboo is so light in B&W. I know bamboo only in very deep green colour (I am not living in the tropics, so there may be varieties I do not know). Did you use any filter or post processing adjustment in black&white conversion?

Thanks, everyone, for you generous commets. Very much appreciated.

Andreas, I did lighten the image to express more of the delicacy I was seeing. But old bamboo looses much of its color. The particular grove was surprisingly pale. There were also younger groves that were the rich green we normally associate with bamboo.

Dirk, I understand you comment about cropping the ground out. But I have many other pictures of the same setting that are done with just the strong verticals of the bamboo. I was just trying to do something different with this one, and rather like the more solid base.
