I am surprised that the the bamboo is so light in B&W. I know bamboo only in very deep green colour (I am not living in the tropics, so there may be varieties I do not know). Andreas, I did lighten the image to express more of the delicacy I was seeing. But old bamboo looses much of its color. The particular grove was surprisingly pale. There were also younger groves that were the rich green we normally associate with bamboo. Dirk, I understand you comment about cropping the ground out. But I have many other pictures of the same setting that are done with just the strong verticals of the bamboo.
