I did not. I was a lot more concerned about a good focus and exposure on the snow. I never even thought about the zoomed mode. Maybe I’ll post the uncropped image so you all can see the difference. Its prey amazing that the Q IQ hangs together at such strong crops. Admittedly I’m not going to print this large, but that was never my goal.

That makes complete sense--thank you sir!  I, too, would have been much more preoccupied with other things than to mess around with yet another control.  That said, when less pressed for time I can see the value of having the crop capability in camera.  Thanks so much again--and yes, I would love to see the original image!

I can too. What’s not obvious is I was looking for the cat to walk down a path cleared of snow on my patio. That’s  what he’s done in the past. I was watching that area very carefully and had prefocused the camera on that spot. Then the darn thing comes walking on the snow instead and several feet further away. So I had to quickly refocus. It all worked out. The Q performed perfectly. I like the snow shot much better when all was done.

See my previous post (above) with the cropped and un-cropped shots to compare.

Even in the face of the Q2, the Q is still a winner.

Paris, the Ile St. Louis.  This trip was a first return since film days some years ago. Paris is truly a photographer's dream, the simplest scene offers such tones, textures, objects.

Visually, spring is making an appearance, though the temperature seems to be denying it.   The "old" Leica Q Edited by beauport

Old Q. Love it. I often say I have 75,000 Smiles on my Porsche. I feel the same about my Q.

Great capture. The small closet door looks surreal since at first glance it seems like the too-small door to the room.
