Jeez...!

Every time I look into this section I am stunned at the results people are getting...

Oddly, this thread and 'Still loving the M8' seem to produce the most interesting photographs, for me anyway. So these are always my first visited threads...

If Lambda bought a Q, perhaps I would only need to view this one thread in future? ;)

this reminded me of a LedZep song ...

...the faint optical circle of clarity around

the boat is your PP or my imagination?

I added a elliptical mask around the vessel and decreased the exposure by a tiny -0,25 to draw the attention more to the middle. The light was rather rough though in these cloudy and rainy conditions causing the lighting to be all over the place.  Funny enough though, when I remove this elliptical mask the faint optical circle you mention is still there. This might be due tho the strong light from the south of the fjord lighting up the clouds and forming this halo around the vessel. Guess this might be an optical illusion after all. :)

I agree. It's unfortunate, I think the main clues are the

little group of three clouds reflected in the water, with

another cloud line (about 2o'clock reference the boat)

and another emphasizing line in the wake's wash.

Usually it's my fault as I usually 'see' stuff in cloud

patterns or 'rock monsters' in cliffs! If you change

the locus of your clarity disc's PP away from those

details you'd disguise the PP more successfully:-)

Good to see that the whale watching boat is well

equipped - judging by all the superstructure kit.

Definitely unfortunate how the clouds and the light creates this halo around the vessel but I guess that's part of being a photographer. Some days the luck is with you, others not. :)

Here is another pic I shot just before the other one:

Yes, that's the one for me. I'm more the reportage sort of person

and this shot tells more of the story. Pity about that halo effect

on the other shot - even it was actually the real deal:-)

So, when do we see you ON this boat with your Q...
