While last week we could hike with T-Shirts, winter did return this Sunday. Some shots from todays hike, and once again I like the versatility of my Q (Type 116)...

(1) a "normal" shot

(2) using the Macro function

(3) and a Pano stitched from 12 handheld vertical shots...

Nice shots! How much depth of field did you have and what shutter speed were you using? I’m struggling with macro to get the right depth of field without it being too thin.

...hiking again with my Q (type 116) - while the weather was very nice for hiking, the total blue sky was somewhat boring for photography - so I decided to convert to B&W for some kind of drama...

Wentworth House gardens, where a camellia still flowers in the unrestored camellia house, and rhododendrons blossom.

Saltaire, near Bradford. Cars usually spoil the view - but this street was clear of them.

Time travel. That shot could easily be from 100 years ago.

Hi I shot F2.8 1/125 ISo1600 - noise reduction in pure raw post. I find manual focus and zoom best for these shots then you get the part you want in focus; of course the closer you are the more "shallow" the DoF becomes I am quite a distance away from the food (probably 0.3m). If you are using manual focus and zoom in you can see highlighted what is in focus and can adjust the aperture as appropriate, then zoom out by half shutter press for recomposition. Excuse me if you already know all this!
