The first image was taken a few days ago. The second was yesterday. Not a place I want to fish.

I like to shoot surfers with a 50 mm lens. This one is with the M10. You can see others on my site, many required wading into the surf.

I have a side project I started today called Five Miles From Home. It’s about stuff within walking distance and was inspired by Covid. I delayed starting it as I wanted to shoot it with a rangefinder and needed to buy one. None of the following will make the cut - I don’t like the 50mm focal length but am training myself to use it. And also the light was bland. But good scouting trip.

The Flamingoes come and go, I’m yet to discover the reason for them. I’m hoping to meet the owner of the boat one day to dig deeper.

The house is abandoned and architecturally is terrible. But fascinating. If the locals were less paranoid JD spend more time here documenting it before it gets redeveloped. It’s a strange house.

This boat has seen better days but I’m told works and will be used again. It sits at the end of a jetty of boats that are covered in grime.

This door is the entrance to an old BT building has long since been abandoned. I find the building fascinating and will go back with a wider lens. Even though it is empty the Covid notices and hand wash stations went in.

I love how very calm and "matter of fact" for want of a better term,  these images are. Makes me think of Stephen Shore. and Alec Soth's Sleeping by the Mississippi.

More from my local walks.

I explored another area of the river, and found a series of caravans parked up. They look quite sad and empty.

M10 with Teh Leica MATE at 28mm and 35mm.  The 28mm has a definite vignetting problem - tried to correct it unsuccessfully in Lightroom on my iPad.  Wouldn’t have mattered too much if it hadn’t been such a clear blue sky yesterday!
