To clarify one peculiarity (which completely stumped me when I saw it!); the very bright 'fork' (top-centre) happens to be the logo of this coffee/food chain and is actually a part of the framed image......😸......

Purely for fun and, possibly, a bit of low-level interest here are two pics taken one after the other of the same scene from circa the same spot during yesterday afternoon's peregrination around Clerkenwell.

One was captured on a Monochrom and the other on a 'Colour' body. One was taken with a 1974 35mm Summilux and the other was shot with a c.2003 40mm f2.8 Rollei HFT. Apertures used were f5.6 and f6.7 and at ISO 200 or ISO 320 (not neccessarily in that order).

Considering one lens uses a (slightly modified) Double-Gauss formula whereas the other is a classic Sonnar design I was struck more by the similarities rather than any differences in rendering.

Which, I suppose, reiterates the maxim that to take advantage of a lens' inherent characteristics it is necessary to shoot as close to Max. Ap. as possible...

No prizes for guessing which f/l lens captured which image. Bodies, though, might be a different story...but this isn't a 'test' nor should it be regarded as such.

Due to the nature of each body used some amount of Post-Prod work was essential but not too much time was spent in attempting to make the pair look identical. So; for anyone trying to work out which body captured which image please do bear that tid-bit of info in mind!
