A quick season's test shot. Despite using the EVF and being 10-15cm away from the 65cm MFD, the DOF on this thing is so ridiculously small that I may have missed focus by ever-so-slightly recomposing (or just by breathing...)

A couple more from the Pan-Tachar 100/2.3. Again wide open, but this time on the M10P. And a bit further from the subject...

Thanks, interesting. All we need now is a volunteer willing to pour sugar in his/her car's tank and report back.

Very simplistically, turning polysaccharides (sugars), say, C6H12O6into polyhydrocarbons CnH2nO2 ('oil' = fatty acids) or vice versa is very difficult and would require a massive amount of heat energy for the process, which sort of defeats the purpose really.   Triglycerides, which are oils that can be refined to make 'oil types' to support current uses are another level, or several, of complexity and would require masses more heat energy.  Apologies for geeking but I wanted to put the misnomer to bed.  Back to click-clicking. 🙂

Sorry I didn' indicate it as a joke. What's the fuss? I like sugar.

My apologies if I reacted strangely, no fuss at all but climate change can be a highly emotive subject and I just wanted to 'damp it down' with a little factual information before a wildfire sprang up out of the advertising copy on the "Sugar instead of Oil" cannister.  I like sugar too. ^_^

Thanks, Pete. Interesting information. At a very basic level, isn't that what our body also does? Convert excess sugar into fat?

It was very obviously tongue-in-cheek - at least to me. And I responded on the same tone. Having a bit of fun doesn't hurt IMO, but I understand why Pete is worried that (t)his thread could get hijacked.

M10P ASC + converted 1932 Hugo Meyer Makro-Plasmat 50/2.7, probably @ f/5.6 (note the photographer's shadow in the bottom left corner...)
