It is just beautiful, how the models pose works with the background and bokeh, to swirl the viewers eye just to the center of the frame - beautiful!

jaques Posted September 28, 2013 Share #1650 Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) hmm, a new foray into old Leitz Microscopy- with a 1950's Orthoplan (?) Microscope+Mikas/Makam (?) lens/shutter/camera mount (E39)+Ltm-M ring+M8. Any technical failing in the images is almost certainly down to operator error. For some reason 30 second exposures were required (iso 160) thought the view through the Periplan eyepieces was very bright to my eye... I was using an LED torch rather than the traditional incandescent lamps... In the first image there is light bleed from the eyepiece... Just early days from a complete novice/ignoramus amateur enthusiast in the world of high end vintage Leitz microscopes- I have no idea what magnifications these images are- and I believe they portray dessicated mosquito larvae frozen in various states- but I just can't be sure what we are looking at- they look rather nebulous- "as above/so below" I guess... : Welcome, dear visitor! jaques Posted September 28, 2013 Share #1651 Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) 90mm elmarit 1964. The City of Melbourne, Australia, from across the bay. love the sickly yellow tone on this one- nice dystopic affect- sci-fi. And Melbourne looks so small, precariously like a futuristic ship on a jaundiced sea. Lucky T. Abbot, School Bully, Pugilist, and finally Rhodes Scholar > PM- is at the helm - stopping the boats, and of course: climate change is just a 'load of crap'. I read all that into your picture... Simey Posted September 30, 2013 Share #1659 Posted September 30, 2013 I love this thread! Here are a couple of humble submissions: The top two are with a Summicron f2, the "fat" version with pre-set ring (lens circa 1968). Pardon the hackneyed cat shot. The other one was taken in Dubai Creek. The Palm Jumeira taken with a Tele-Elmar 135mm f4 (lens circa 1965). All shot wide open on an M-E.
