NB23 Posted August 29, 2011 Share #2325 Posted August 29, 2011 Thanks for your comments for the Top Right picture. I much prefer the other pictures, the top right being my least favorite simply because it's the simplest and most cliché (IMO). But it is the one with the most technical qualities. The poster in the back is about 10 feet high and the real challenge was to quickly shoot the picture at the exact moment when the old man would cross. The lucky part is that he was looking right at the lens. The technical part was to have him in focus as well as the background (hence iso3200@f16) and have his head as big as the one in the background. It was a one shot deal. My favorite shot is the bottom left, with the silhouette near the house. That was a beautiful sight. Martin, there is no link to any of my personal work yet. I am currently working on printing my whole work since the beginning. 1500 wet prints into the project(many doubles and triples, many different sizes) and I'm not even 10% done. In 4-5 years I shall have it all finished. The other big problem is that I shoot as much as I print so the 5 year backlog might be there forever. blah, who cares
Dutch Posted August 29, 2011 Share #2326 Posted August 29, 2011 The other big problem is that I shoot as much as I print so the 5 year backlog might be there forever. blah, who cares I hope that I can get to that point myself, shooting as much as printing. Sounds (and looks) very rewarding!
farnz Posted August 30, 2011 Share #2327 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Can we very kindly keep this thread on topic and not allow it to descend into an argument about cropping etc please? If you wish to debate the virtues or otherwise of cropping then please start another thread. Thank you, Pete. Marty Posted August 31, 2011 Share #2336 Posted August 31, 2011 Strange. Is that lens mount release button not pushed in too far?
wattsy Posted August 31, 2011 Share #2337 Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) Strange. Is that lens mount release button not pushed in too far? Must be an optical illusion (or possibly I hadn't clicked the lens on properly). Just looking at it now the release button sits at the same depth as the button on my standard MP. NB23 Posted August 31, 2011 Share #2338 Posted August 31, 2011 Cool! Oh, how I wish I had my own darkroom again........ So much fun. Especially during the Sports season. I can't wait for the hockey season to start: 82 Games on the Radio, 82 beers, 82 printing sessions, 820 Prints!!
