matt335 Posted October 16, 2011 Share #2381 Posted October 16, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not sure I like the way mine is wearing but as it is used daily I shouldn't complain. Gets tossed in the bag, crashes around against the lightmeter, lenses and other camera. Bounced around on the bike, dragged across the beach, sandblasted by sand, wind and salt spray. But, it feels very smooth mechanically, took awhile to bed in but nearly as smooth as my M2. Maybe treat it to a couple of coats of Hammerite. Andy, hi, nice kit here ! I know you use it well.

Clickie McPete Posted October 23, 2011 Share #2383 Posted October 23, 2011 I got a silver one this week with .58 finder. I'm so in love with this camera, just amazing as everyone here knows...time to ditch the M8 which I've barely used in two years. Film Rulz! chrism Posted October 23, 2011 Share #2384 Posted October 23, 2011 What is the current going rate for an MP? I have a chrome MP to spare and I'm wondering about putting it up for sale. Chris
rob139 Posted November 12, 2011 Share #2385 Posted November 12, 2011 This thread has fallen off the first page! Time for a question: Does anybody know what the black spot in the middle of this picture is for? I mean the rubber thing which is normally hidden under the wind lever, not the screw on the shutter dial. Thanks, Rob Welcome, dear visitor! too old to care Posted November 12, 2011 Share #2386 Posted November 12, 2011 I always assumed that it was a little bumper to protect from metal to metal contact from the film advance lever. But, that is a guess.

wattsy Posted November 13, 2011 Share #2390 Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) And I thought it was access to adjust shutter timing Yes. It's for adjusting the slit width. See this and scroll down a few paragraphs. Edited November 13, 2011 by wattsy

dave.gt Posted November 13, 2011 Share #2392 Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) Easy guys. They're only light-tight boxes to hold your film. I love my family even though they are just flesh boxes to hold their souls. The MP is maybe the one camera that I would own over all other possibilities. But, I must soldier on with my M3 for awhile. Great thread and glad I just found it!!! Edited November 13, 2011 by dave.gt

atournas Posted November 20, 2011 Share #2395 Posted November 20, 2011 With perhaps a thousand images of MP cameras in this thread by now, I wonder if we should vote for the best shot, not with but of, an MP! Paul
farnz Posted November 20, 2011 Share #2396 Posted November 20, 2011 "Best"? I'd prefer to just keep the thread going just as it is without resorting to turning it into a competition of sorts. If you found the 'best photo (whatever that means) then there's a danger it would kill the thread. Pete.
pico Posted November 20, 2011 Share #2397 Posted November 20, 2011 Super crappy pictures of my MP. Sorry for the bad compositions, I never said I was any good at it. With respect, I find the artificial grain objectionable. White paper borders should have no grain. But is your artistic right. I've not seen grain and such obvious dodging since "Sweet Life" by Ed van der Elsken. It worked for him.

Sure, if there is a danger of killing the thread "as is" now, my thought had better be discarded. My motive has been, though, that some uploaded images stand out as excellent photographs in their own. Paul

NB23 Posted November 20, 2011 Share #2400 Posted November 20, 2011 Pico, It's the iPhone's limitations under one 100W light bulb on the ceiling ambient light. Here's one more of my Stealthy MP. As you can see, you almost don't see it. Great for street photography. Welcome, dear visitor!
