Westmalle is a actually very nice type of Belgium beer. Comes in 2 variants. Double (dark) and triple (light)

After a long day of streetphotography and camera loaded with Kodak tri-x I enjoyed that cold beer a lot.

Steve,  apologies if out of subject , but red wine better because has antioxidants against

Alzheimer disease ! :D good for health if one glass with the meal

Henry

Henry I applaud you patriotism, but there are two things that no French wine can compete with:

1. English ale

2. The English longbow.

...and for LB, Paulus and Steve , the most important is print here some prints in Ilford paper size 13x18cms

and also 30x40cms , pictures taken with the MP -50 Lux Asph and  Kodak TX400 film :)

Enlarger : Focomat with Focotar lens.

I have framed and hanged some prints in my office :)

the general rendering is outstanding in b&w with this MP !

may be one equivalent in SLR , the Leicaflex SL, same principle

Yes LB , I agree for the Porsche 911 :) and I add like "tubes" amplifier in sound

the purity in image and sound when watching pictures without agressivity and listen

vinyl discs without fatigue for the ears !

The mechanical leica m is the porsche 911 under the cameras ..
It was the best in its kind, is the best and remains the best!

And it becomes more valuable with time

Out of subject! My speciality.

Antioxidants are very good but there is consistent and growing evidence that alcohol in almost any amount is injurious to one's health. I suppose it goes into the background radiation of auto exhaust, second-hand smoke, chemicals in household products, recreational drugs, risky sports, risky employment, plump sausages, frites, and such things. Since your life can be ended in a moment by a single harried lorry driver it's best to craft your choices and let others craft theirs. I love alcohol, especially red wine, but am slowly, almost unconsciously, ceasing to drink it. Something I have never been able to do through intent.

Got to do something about this being on the internet at 07:37 business. There's more than enough light to get out with a camera,

It's not the meager 8,4 procent I like in the Pauwel Kwak, but the taste is wonderful, but it's better not to drink one every day...

On the point of wine versus abbey beer, one might think about the fact that the monks are in great health. I once stayed in Affligem, an abbey with also great beer. On the subject of stress and intollerance, one of the monks said : It's better to take an Affligem on occasion than to make a fuzz. The abbey lies in  great belgian surroundings, I have made some shot's with my M9 ...but now we are really off topic  ;) :https://pauljoostenfotograaf.smugmug.com/Journalism/Affligem-kleur/i-wwTQXD9/A

SA have you noticed I say "one glass" at each meal !

Why "antioxidants" are great * ? not alcohol , because we know now in 2017

that oxidation of brain , due by stress or brain infection or increase lipids can induce

the AD during many years . :)AD is first a brain neuroinflammation !

Good photos with MP All

Best

Henry

MP "macro" style - Visoflex I setup with DR Summicron 50 - lens head/optics removed & screwed into bellows (this lens plus the 135 f4 Elmar had detachable optics that complimented the visoflex bellows)

Bulky configuration but great results - though not 19th century this does have a "steampunk" feel to it.

My X-pro 2 also attaches nicely to this setup

Taken with iPhone 6

Definitely for macro photography here

The visoflex system was an early type of SLR ie there was a mirror present within the unit, so one cable lifts the mirror while the second takes the shot (shutter) - there is a delay between the action of the two - mirror up first then shutter opens

A Nice Pair (as Pink Floyd noted) of M's, old & new - 40 years apart

sporting a couple of new aquisitions

1. M3 - Tom Abrahamsson memorial soft shutter button

2. MP - Summaron 35 f2.8 (genuine LTM with M adaptor) - this is such a gorgeous/sexy lens IMHO - light, compact with beautiful ergonomics (plus performance)

I also have a 35 f2 ASPH but prefer the Summaron for handling & aesthetics - have no issue with chrome lenses on black bodies, actually like the contrast plus a black lens hood makes it even more appealing

Nice macro setup!  Coincidentally, I'm in the process of putting together a 35mm-format based macro setup, as my medium format setup is too large to carry around.  I was thinking about a manual Nikon setup, but your Visoflex makes me want to explore that path as well...

The visoflex units are quite easy to pick up, especially the I series (series II & III are generally more sought after - all, I-III are compatible with M mount while I also covers LTM leicas) - I obtained my set via Ebay (USA) for a very good price & basically unused. I would certainly go down this path if you already have leica camera(s). Sorry for being a bit off topic here - MP related only.

You might like to check the "heights" of the varying cameras. I recall (I think?) the Viso 3 clears all of the cameras, but the earlier ones I believe may not. Might be thinking of the digital Leicas as well, but perhaps check.

My experience has me using my ancient Leicaflex for any close-up work, using the bog-standard 50mm Summicron R, and an Elpro (V1a or V1b). Much easier, all round, believe me.

Thanks for the advice!  I have an MP and a 90mm Elmar Macro, so I reckon squeezing a Visoflex between the two would make it a capable macro setup.

I'll post pictures here once/if I go that route!
