Behold and Lo, a late-version 50 Elmar M, 6-bit coding and all, was dangled in front of me. I'm wondering if there's much it can add to what my svelte and powerful APO is already capable of. It's a lovely lens, in rendering and in use. But I wouldn't get one if I already had a 50 APO. lct Posted November 22, 2016 Share #9 Posted November 22, 2016 Matter of tastes obviously. I use more my 50/2.8 v2 (i have three of them...) than my 50/2 apo personally. Depends on what you're after. It you prefer transparency the 50/2 apo is definitely the way to go. If you prefer character the 50/2.8 may be either the lens of your life or a nice paper weight depending upon your tastes and preferences only. It looks so cool retracted and tiny..or in the ready for business position.. And the pics..well..sublime...! And where can you find a mint example Leica lens so cheap..
