Hi Steven,

I don’t think Otto was being unpleasant. He’s always been polite here over the years.  I think he was suggesting the use of standard terms for identification and to avoid confusion.  I didn’t know what steel rim meant either although I then saw you’d referenced it earlier.  We’ve not infrequently seen confusion before with terms like ‘Summi’  - Summicron, Summilux , ? 🙄

Brief posts, like texts,  are easily misinterpreted.

Nice lens btw.

Keep up the commentary.

kind regards,

Mark 🙂

While we are talking about terms.

I also wish people were more accurate when describing which lens they used. If someone says just "50 Summilux" for example, it actually means pre-ASPH, because the newest version is ASPH. But I have experienced that they often mean ASPH, even though this is omitted. So I never take anything for granted, unless they add either "pre-ASPH" or "ASPH", or version number, to the lens name.

Regarding Otto's discontent with me, he has expressed it clearly

Indeed I have been critical about your long and frequent posts once and I have corrected that as you know by stating that I would be happy if you could be a bit shorter in the future and that I would be disappointed if you should leave (which you had suggested with the wording ‘step back’). That’s all and I hope we can have good understanding further, Mark interpreted my post completely right. I could have made a same comment to everyone else, which I sometimes do here, recently for instance with the abbreviation LoCA. In my country ‘incrowd’ means: for a select group of people.

Wow, that's a lot of dust-bunnies on your sensor!

😉

Mostly snow this time. But the M10 really does have a dust problem, if I point it at a  blue sky it doesn’t look dissimilar!

M10 with 35mm Summilux pre-ASPH v2. I have fallen in love with this tiny lens, and can hardly find use for any of my other lenses anymore.
