You'd have to ask Leica. I'd guess it's nothing more than a simple commercial relationship.

..... actually I think Novoflex have a much closer relationship with Leica than that ...... adapters are often available when cameras/lenses are released ..... or very soon after ..... often long before Leicas own versions appear. At the very least the seem to have access to specifications and/or prototypes a good while before the final production models hit the high street.

Has anyone any experience with the mpe-65 for macro? It behaves well and I can focus manually in live view far better than on any canon body ... but the exposure is totally wrong. Perfect on live view but about 4-5 stops over exposed. Any ideas?

And for info, the Venus 60mm 2:1 macro lense does not seem tocouple through the novoflex ... everything is black. But it is like that on my 1DX2 sometimes .

I have been using the MP-E since a couple of months together with the adapter. Often the exposure is OK, but not always.

I found it best to use the manual mode and a fixed ISO value.

I have tried the adapter with varying degree of success.  It works okay with my 300 2.8, 200 2.8 (interesting its not on the list) and Sigma 1.4 DG (interesting it says no autofocus on the list).  Also they seem to work better after the firmware update. Maybe my imagination but the lenses seem to lock on focus more consistently.

Novoflex states they are currently working on a list. They state the lenses listed below are the lenses they have tested up to now. From B&H website.

I tried the 16-35 f/2.8L II and the 100mm f/2.8L Macro and both would not even attempt to focus. The 16-35 was recorded as a 24-70 f/2.8 in the EXIF file

At this time I am running SL w/firmware 3.4

I needed one for my Nikon 19 t/s (just for the aperture setting, didn't care about poor autofocus performance for this manual lens). B&H listed it discontinued several months ago when I was looking for one, but found one on ebay from Hong Kong (even saved about $200).

B&H lists this adapter as discontinued. Is there an alternative? I am just looking to use Canon EF T/S Lenses on a SL2.

Yes there's the Sigma MC-21 adapter which a number of us here use with Canon EF lenses on the SL2. It works well in SAF mode (no continuous focus), it's accurate, speed is not lightning fast but perfectly acceptable. Have a look at this thread I made some months ago:

Has anyone reported luck using Irix Dragonfly lenses with the Novoflex adapter?

The Irix 21/30/45mm lenses look very promising and it would be cool to pair them with the SL 601.

But the mentioned adapter is only for the Canon EF lenses.. unless Irix designed their lenses in such a way that is compatible?!

It only needs the in-camera aperture control, since the lenses only work in the MF mode.
