TomB_tx Posted September 26, 2016 Share #3 Â Posted September 26, 2016 The dual-range Summicron will focus to 1/2 meter (500 mm) with the close focus goggles, but does not work without modification on digital bodies. Summicrons v. 3 (1969) and later focus to 700 mm. (Of course the Leica lenses for the Leicaflex and R models focus closer.)

dpitt Posted September 27, 2016 Share #11 Â Posted September 27, 2016 AFAIK the Leica rangefinder mechanism is not suited to focus shorter than 0,7 m Some very wide angle lenses will focus closer but then you are supposed to use zone focussing at these distances. Â With bespoke adapter some 'macro' lenses get up to 50 cm
lct Posted September 27, 2016 Share #12  Posted September 27, 2016 [...] With bespoke adapter some 'macro' lenses get up to 50 cm  Same for normal 50mm lenses on some mirrorless cameras.
spydrxx Posted September 27, 2016 Share #13 Â Posted September 27, 2016 Of course you could use an auxiliary lens on the front of most 50mm lens to get closer...you need a ruler or tape measure to get accurate focus however. Another thought is one of the close up reproduction devices - like the BOOWU. Here's an earrlier discussion on this topic http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/139713-boowu-m9/

Peter Kilmister Posted September 28, 2016 Share #15 Â Posted September 28, 2016 Extension tubes do the job well. With the aid of EVF or LV it is easy to focus accurately to a few cms. That's the joy of the M240.
