Thanks, Jean-Marc.  I have shared a sample of this series of photos on various outlets.  But one was in a thread I started in this sub-forum a few years ago.  Here is another... :)

Amazing dynamic of movement in this picture

A great picture for the decisive moment

People look like "stopped in time"

Very nice effect Adam

Best Henry

@Coogee you're on a right thread . Nice pictures

Thanks, you got it in one Mark. My Southern cousin, Maroubra. That first surfer was amazing, carving up waves right on top of those rocks.

Adam, every one of your beach images here are superb. Really first rate work.

Thanks a lot, Brent.  As I suspected, so many of us have beach photos that have broad public interest, and I am glad to be able to see so many of them here.  I encourage people to post more.  Perhaps at some point a coffee table book could be in order with the theme of people watching from beaches around the world?? :)

This is quite lovely, Brent.  It has your signature rich tonal style

I need to get into that Provia 100F. Fantastic colours.

Yes, Mark, it is great beach film.  On a sunny day, pretty much everything is exposed to the sun at the same EV, so exposing for the highlights works quite well.   You just have to make sure not to ETTR and rather exposure for exactly with the incident meter says...

Shared introspection

Nice shots A Miller. I don't think I could 'get away with' shooting on the sand like that here, there is a lot of suspicion/angst, it's hard to know how to approach it.

very lovely....and peaceful, indeed.

I think you need to know your crowd.  On places like South Beach, most anything goes.  I love it.  And believe it or not I am quite judicious in my approach.

Take these lovely ladies; they didn't want me to shoot them so I honored their request (immediately after I took this).  Then I offered to take some snaps of them with their iPhones and we immediately became friends.

Maybe I should just be a bit bolder! I think I am more like this guy, a self imposed exile. (Portra 160, 50 Summilux-M pre-ASPH)
