Well, it’s Leica Girl’s fault. I liked her name so much I changed mine ( iQ2) to Leica Guy.

My wife says some kind of Daisy. Top half of the center section.Leica Q2, 1/125, f/6.3, ISO 1250, macro mode, handheld.

Day Lily, stamen and anther. Leica Q2, 1/450, f/16, ISO 400, Hoya macro Close-Up filter, on tripod, Highly cropped to the equivalent of 122mm. Following many shots where the wind blew the flower around.

I did think "compound eye", but the "eyelid" doesn't look like an insect's. More like a cat. And I didn't think compound eyes looked like that. So thanks for the lesson. And the stunning photo. The body of work you've posted on here is phenomenal.

Very happy with the Hoya Close-Up Macro filter. Of course I don’t use the full image. Its sharp in the center 50%. Outside that it gets soft. That’s expected.

Thanks for your kind words! I do apologise if the eye is a bit misleading. I believe it is confusing because the round front metallic part of the lens is reflected on the ommatidia making them looking round than hexagonal. I will try and get another one this weekend blocking the front metallic bit of the lens to see how it will look like! :)
