Thanks for all these wonderful pictures. Can I ask what kind of equipment you used on the Q to get that?

Alex, Not sure if you’re asking this of me or someone else. If me, I’ve adapted a screw on adapter to fit the Canon EX-14 MR ring flash to the Q. It works great. Only in manual mode so you control exposure mostly with flash power and the aperture setting. There are several photos and description earlier in the macro thread. If you can’t find it, send me a message and I’ll direct you to it. It works really well for macro photography.

Thank you. I wondered what Leica equipment people here use. I see now that it is OEM.

Leica does not have a macro flash as far as I know. It also lets me use my Canon flash with another camera. It works really well. Manual only. My other Canon flashes also work great on the Q.

@Zampelis

Thanks for your reply, it explains the beautiful bokeh.

Can you say more about your macro lens characteristics and mark ?

Hi soizic, I am using one or two Marumi +5 lenses. Our friend Presbyopia has a great thread with lots of info about them: https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/286755-insights-in-to-close-up-filters-on-leica-q-macro-mode/

I am very satisfied with them but oh boy.. Did you see those new Elpros E52 with the +7 diopter!! I will definitely get my hands on a couple of them as soon as I can!

I can't say "thanks," Dimitris, because your recommendation is going to cost me a lot of money! :-)

I know the feeling Ken.. Especially currently recovering from purchasing a pigment printer and some colorimeter equipment for my monitor so that I can get some experience on printing...

On the other hand the Spring is gone... not many flowers from now and on... not a significant reason this period to get the close up lens... but, well who are we kidding eh? ;)

By the way, here is a photo straight out of the camera taken with both close up lenses, to demonstrate the vignetting and distortion that our friend Presbyopia is referring to. Here is also the RAW file for anyone interested:
